The Bug Display
The second cage contains the plants with aphids
being attacked by a parasitic wasp.
Words and pictures on the display tell what is
happening in the cage.
The third cage shows the plants and aphids with
Ladybugs feeding on them.
Unfortunately we didn't plan far enough ahead to have
ladybug larvae present on the plants alongside the adults.
The fourth cage was to have praying mantis
feeding on the aphids, but the mantis eggs didn't
hatch in time for the kids to see them :(
The last cage held the lacewings, which are
voracious predators of aphids. We had
both the larvae and adults in this cage.
