Yosemite Falls '10
Liz and Jim plan to hike from the Tioga Pass road (Route 120)
to the Yosemite Valley by way of Yosemite Falls.
To make this work they have to make it to the Valley by 5 pm
or miss the only bus that can take them back to thier car.
To get to the trailhead from the bus stop, we have to hitch-hike from Olmstead Point.
Here is Liz with our sign, the first time she has every hitched a ride.
We get a ride within 20 minutes from some nice young people from San Francisco.
Here is Liz at the trailhead sign; we're going the bottom route, 9.5 miles.
The forest is wonderful and the hiking is easy.
We get to the rim of the valley, here looking out at Yosemite Point.
Looking southeast, we see North Dome, to which we hiked last year,
with Half Dome in the background.
