Utah '05
We were very lucky with the weather.
You can see rain falling in the left background,
but we only felt an occasional drop.
The last stop on our tour is the Broken Arch.
Thad and a couple folks stand under the arch.
On the trail back to the car we find
this rattlesnake sharing the trail with us.
He's just a little guy but we keep our distance.
We also come across some rare cryptobiotic soil.
This interesting stuff is a whole ecosysyem in each
of these black nodules; it is a very fragile material
which takes hundreds of years to form.
Finally our trip must come to an end.
