Thursday morning we bid a fond 'Adieu' to
Chuck, Kim, Gib, Theresa, and Ty.
To console ourselves, Jack, Ellie, Jim, and Liz go to
Mono Lake on a day of intermittent rain.
Here Liz and Jim pose at the Visitor Center
overlooking the lake.
We drive down to the lake to take in the
sights and the wildlife.
The south shore of Mono Lake
has many strange, stalagmite-type
structures called 'tufa'.
Jack exercises a kind of supernatural patience while
Jim and Ellie look for fly larvae.
This strange lake is always a
source of beauty and mystery.
